The last couple days in Beverly Hills, we’ve been surrounded by the best of the best in the worlds of design, styling, blogging, and internet marketing. And since it’s just about International Women’s Day (Mar. 8th), we wanted to take this time to acknowledge some pearls of wisdom we’ve accumulated over the weekend from a few inspiring ladies who spoke at the Design Bloggers Conference:
“Be crazy enough to think you can and WILL.” – Amber Interiors
Amber Lewis started her design blog focusing on her experiences as a first-time homeowner, but has since outgrown that model: She now runs a top Los Angeles design firm, is a pioneer in e-design, and maintains a brick-and-mortar location.
“Details are what set you apart. Period” – Stacy Kunstel
Co-hosting the conference with founder, Adam Japko, is Stacy Kunstel, a dynamic photo stylist and founder of nautical home brand Dunes and Duchess. We can all learn a thing or two from her about paying attention to details! Learn more about Stacy here.
“…the real value of any event is the confluence of content and community” – Rebecca Robins
Rebecca is the global director of Interbrand, and Co−author of Meta−luxury, a book examining what luxury truly is, culturally and as a business model.
“If you commit, Instagram levels the playing field” – Studio McGee
“For Shea McGee of Studio McGee, it all started 3 years ago when she signed up for an Instagram account to promote her part-time design business. 30 employees and 300k followers later – she’s had some victories and learned a lot along the way.”
“I believe we thrive or die together. I believe in sharing resources” – Brooke Gionetti
California interior designer and shop owner, Brooke Gionetti, lives on Patina Farm, a serene landscape in Ojai, inspiring her designs and blog, Velvet & Linen.
“If someone says they want a brand, I ask what they did to deserve it.” – Kristin Giese
