ATTENDING LAS VEGAS MARKET GUIDE
If you haven’t registered for Las Vegas Market, it’s easy and free. Plus, pre-registration saves you time. Las Vegas Market is a large trade show with three buildings of the top vendors in the furniture and home decor industry. Take at least two days to attend the show to allow yourself enough time to visit your favorite showrooms and be introduced to new ones. Make sure to book your hotel and flight accommodations through Las Vegas Market for special discounts.
Plan It: Check out your favorite vendors‘ 2016 catalogs or look at the online directory and browse through hundreds of lines and exhibitors. Decide on what product category you’re looking to buy for your store or your clients. Once you plan which companies you’ll be definitely visiting, plan your schedule by location so you’re not going back and forth through the buildings all day.
CATALOGS: Here are all of our favorite vendors’ catalogs to get you started!

What to Pack
Clothing: Well, first of all, Las Vegas is in the desert. So it’s hot, like over 100 degrees hot, all day long hot. Luckily, you’ll be inside most of the time, but make sure to wear comfortable light clothing that showcases your style and personality but FORGO THE HEELS – at least during the day. You will be on your feet, walking all day long and wearing heels is the biggest rookie mistake for these trade shows. However, there are so many designer parties during the evenings at market, or you may get invited to a nice dinner right after the show. So, bring at least one nice pair of shoes in case, which you could keep in your bag or car during the day.
Carrying With You: Many designers decide to bring a large bag, or small rolling bag/suitcase instead of a purse. Not only will you want to bring with you your own business materials but throughout market you will be gathering catalogs and other items from the vendors. Inside your bag make sure to bring:
- A large stack of business cards
- Copy of your business licenses
- Address labels including email, to ensure your info is correct on order forms as well as to save time
- Credit references: vendors will require if you request terms for your initial order
- Shopping list including budget with dollars divided by product category
- Purchase record: so you have a reference what will arrive at your store, and when
- Credit card stickers: save time and secure special offers i.e. free shipping, discounts, dating”
- Make storage space on your phone for photos
- Extra battery for your phone
- Advil or Tylenol
- Snack — Most showrooms will be offering complimentary food and drinks throughout the day so take advantage of that!
Transportation: All three buildings of the World Market Center are right next to each other and the temporary Pavillions are directly across the street. Once you’re at market, you’re set for the day! Getting around town and parking are easy as well! Self-parking, Valet parking, Shuttles to & from hotels and the airport, endless city taxis, and LYFT (special discount LVMKT for new users). Market also has complimentary coat & bag check if you need to lighten your load while venturing through the buildings (Building A & C Lobbies).
Dining: During market, food services are available on nearly every floor. From LVMKT’s Jamaican/New Mexican fusion restaurant, to grab-and-go cafes, to amazing food trucks in the front courtyard of the three buildings, you definitely have many options for each day. Las Vegas is known for top-notch restaurants. After being inside showrooms all day, check out these 18 chic, outdoor dining restaurants for some fresh air and design inspiration.
Business As Usual: The market also provides business centers for when you still need to handle business while away from your office. The business centers provide internet, faxes, phones, copy, and mailing services which you can find one in each of the three buildings (Building A: 1st Floor, Building B: 3rd Floor, Building C: 11th Floor). A Valet Package Service is available in Building C if you need materials stored and shipped.
